  • Pickups with Ferrite rods or cores

    I see a bunch of Ferrite rods or cores on Ebay .
    It might be a stupid question but Are they just a magnet ? & if the are why dont you see pickups made from them
    Has anyone experimented with them

    On Speakers, you'll see Ferrite in one place, then in another they call it Ceramic.
    So Probably it's just ceramic rods.
    I wonder what size they are?

      Ebay has quite the variety
      ferrite rods | eBay
      8mm wide is a common size ,Which is a little thick for a pole piece

        Mike Sulzer has use these with small neo magnets on the ends.

        I'm sure he will chime in and tell his experiences with them.
