  • anyone know about Oram pickups?

Make Uli Jon Roth's Megawing III pickup on the new Dean Skyguitar, 18v system (PS included?) with a quoted "80db output"

    check the (DE-15?) jack

Oram web site has bupkis...except mentioning 4 "special effects"
    Musical Electronics
    which aren't available anywhere...

Deans Skyguitars (only 25 or is it 50 made?) at ~$7k are cheaper than 18th St Guitars $18k SkyGuitar of a few years back, Uli will reportedly call you up and help you name your skyguitar...

I had heard they were low impedance pickups.

    The website says:

This is a low impedance system with a very sophisticated EQ system
    Also:

    18-Volt Power Supply Included
It always cracks me up that on the Dean website they say stuff like:

A few years ago, an introduction to Elliott "Dean" Rubinson, owner of Dean Guitars
Ummm, "Dean" was Dean Zelinsky, the guy that started the company.

It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

Thats pretty sad they couldn't get that right. I always thought they were Dean Martin tribute guitars ;-) I wonder if Zelinksy is even involved anymore?

No, Dean sold the company back in 1991 to a guy named Oscar Medeiros because he wanted to spend more time with his family, and business was not so great because of all the cheap import guitars at the time. In 1997 Armadillo Enterprises, Inc. acquired the name. That's he guy that's running it now. I remember seeing Zelinksy with him when the company got back going again.

Zelinksy just got back into the guitar business with DBZ Guitars
