  • Sorry for my retard moment but...

I guess i have never noticed this before and why I dont know, like I said, maybe this is just a bad retard moment for me.

I have noticed that the amount of stratitis can be directly related to the winding tension of a single coil. Any of the more knowledgeable guys here can chime in and explain if they will. Im guessing the tighter the wind the closer the wire is to the mags and the more of the field is being put off?? I just dont know??

It shouldn't have anything to do with the coil. Just put three empty bobbins with charged magnets under the strings and bring them real close. You can even do it just holding a magnet close to the string.

18 alnico magnets exert a lot of pull.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

So would pure nickel wrap strings be better for a strat than ordinary strings with regards to sustain..?
