  • Attaching bobbin to winder's mounting plate?

Guys that build your own winders, or jerry-rig one from a drill, how do you do this?

2 way tape is a place to start but it helps to have some way of centering tour bobbin to prevent from wobbling

I use double stick foam tape most of the time. I don't worry about centering, and do it by eye.

I also use wooden plates to attach certain bobbins with screws, and have even used neo magnets to hold the bobbin on.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

I make wooden plates for just about everything. You can clamp the bobbin in place and it helps to prevent flaring.

I use a 1/16" brass pin in the plate to center the flatwork. It's an extra hole to drill but it saves a lot of time and keeps the bobbin from flying off mid-wind.
