Drop of dried Superglue on p'up cover. What to do?

I don't know what to use to dissolve it, it's on a golden cover.

Can it be done or I just need to get another cover?

Methyl Ethyl Keytone, you can find it in the local DIY store.

Both work, also ethyl acetate, just don't get even the smallest drop on your guitar body or you'll ruin its finish.
So work well away from it.

Yep, BOTH nail polish remover and that "Debonder" are acetone based. You can get a quart of acetone at your local big box store really cheap by comparison.

Use is with good ventilation and away from flames.

Nail Polish remover works, but it's kind of diluted. After having glued my fingers together a few times, I can attest that straight acetone or MEK works much better than nail polish remover. But it does work, and there was always some in the house when I was married.

Acetone works, but you have to keep the cloth wet with the acetone to soften the super glue. It will take a little time depending on how thick the glue smudge is. Also check on the side of the cover to see if the acetone reacts with any finish that may be on the cover, some covers were laquered for protection.

Good point, sometimes the "gold plating" is just amber lacquer over nickel plating.

Nail polish remover comes in lots of formulations. Most of them contain ethyl acetate and acetone.
Nobody needs a quart of acetone to remove a drop of CA. Penny wise vs pound foolish methinks.
The debonder works well because it doesn't evaporate right away like acetone etc but sits on the CA and dissolves it into something that won't stick again as soon as it dries out.

Acetone is the most common solvent marketed as CA remover. Use a small piece of cloth or paper towel folded over itself a few times. Then saturate it and allow it to soak in before wiping it off. If you can do so safely it's a great idea to chip the bulk off with a razor or other sharp edge first. If there is lacquer present, fine wet sandpaper and polishing compound will be needed to make it look normal again.

For future reference, if you're going to hav CA near anything like this again: rub some wax on it first... That way you have a release agent ready so the adhesive will flake right off.

David, that depends upon which type you buy. In the past I have bought bottles of Nail polish remover from a local dollar store. Some were 100 % Acetone and some were diluted. You just have to read the labels.
