I had the old Duncan stacks in a guitar, an they sounded very good. The DiMarzio Virtual Vintage pickups sound great too.

      Nearly the same pickup.
I just built a stacked Strat P/U with rod magnets south up.
      both coils are wound CCW.
I have the output wired to the top coil start lead.
I have the start lead of the bottom coil grounded.
I have the 2 finish leads soldered together.
It has very good Hum canceling, but sounds just a little bit out of phase.
Is this normal on this pickup, and do I have it wired right?
It's not real handy to move the wires around.
      Thanks,
      T

Terry, do you have any blade bobbins long enough and wide enough to fit over a Strat bobbin with the rod magnets installed in the bottom flatwork only?

If it's canceling hum, it's wired up right. They are very bright and a little thin on the low end. So you have to wind them hot to compensate.

Seymour has this wiring where it's like a powerboost. You switch the two coils in phase, and the pickup gets very loud and bassy sounding.
