ID:	867236Wound some humbuckers for an electric uke I made. the two middle strings are twice as loud as the the outer strings on both buckers. I've adjusted pole height down on the middle and as close to the strings as possible on the weaker ones but no change. I've got to think its a design or construction flaw on my part.
I used alnico 2 bar mags that were designed for mini buckers or I think firebirds. The bobbins I made from wood, routing out the space for the wire. steel spacers and circuit board base plate. Wound with 5000 and 5200 turns of PE43awg copper. I don't have a way of testing mag strength. The wire wound evenly with no problems. They tested out at 7.2K and 7.35 K There is only about 1/16" of wood between poles and the mag wire and it's consistent around the ends so I am at a loss. Any thoughts

Sounds like the bar magnets are not full strength on the ends.
Take a small steel punch or file and touch the poles and see if they seem as strong, as the two center poles.
Sometimes it is hard to charge the whole bar magnet equally with shorter NEO Magnets.
If that is not it let us know, can check some other things.

That looks like it might be it. Not too noticeable but definitely a difference. I remember now that mag was slightly to long so I ground down the ends a bit and that probably discharged them. I've never recharged a mag before but I do have a pair of wicked strong neos that fir my small vise so I will give it a shot. I did not want to open these things up again

        Thanks Terry,
Unfortunately I still have the problem. I pulled the mag and recharged it. My Neos are N42 1" by 2" so it felt like they were pretty even after the charge. Put it all back together and still had same problem. The mags area little long so I thought that might be the problem so I pulled them again, trimmed them down, recharged and reassembled but still sounds the same. Any thoughts out there?

Are you sure the Pickup is wired in phase?
Are both coils wound the same direction?
Hot on one start lead, and finish leads tied together, with ground on the other start Lead?

This may be the cause of your problem. Too much heat?
How long is your bar magnet and how far from the end of the bar magnet are your screws sitting?
