    Some chips are low power, so they don't draw as much current as others.

    The FET (field effect transistor) circuit I showed doesn't use much power, and the battery should last quite a long time. I go months between battery changes, and even then the battery is not dead. I just like to put a new one in.

    I usually change my battery when I put new strings on my bass.
