It's been just a little over a year since I started exploring how to go about pickup making. I must have built at least 3 winder prototypes, wound dozens of different coils shapes and combinations and wasted about 6 spools of wire in the process. I made lots of dumb mistakes and tried a bunch things that aren't in pickup making best practices, but eventually reverse-engineered myself a pickup that should give life to my next custom bass. I feel empowered and encouraged. I know I hit up this forum quite a bit probably asking lots of redundant questions that have been answered over and over again by others. So it's only fitting to say thanks for putting up with me. I hope all of you find the same reward I find in this DIY culture.
