What kind of lacquer for bonding bobbinless coils?

      Does that too. All in all, not a bad approach.

      I also wax pot my coils before encapsulating in epoxy. But in the past I used varnish, and also poly urethane, and tried a few with nothing but the epoxy (which was microphonic).
      All work. The last, microphonic despite the epoxy, implies that the epoxy was too thick to penetrate the coil, leaving windings free to vibrate.

        Correct. I was the same epoxy I encapsulate with, and it works very well for that, so I didn't ant t change anything. So now I wax pot all the coils first. As you said that also works as a buffer between the coil and epoxy.

        I've had very few failed pickups as a result.
