need a rewinder for a 78 Yamaha P bass pickup

  • need a rewinder for a 78 Yamaha P bass pickup

    Looking to have a p pickup from a 78 BB 800 rewound for hotter output....anyone able to do this please email me at hjccustoms@gmail.com really fussy customer and I am not good enough yet. Thanks in advance for any help.

    If the original pickups still work I advise against rewinding them.
    Just use new Hotter pickups, and keep the originals in a safe place!

    It appears that your bass pickups are different shape than Fender Ps.
    If the pickups come out of the covers, then new pickups could be made from New forbon, and new magnets to fit your covers.

      The problem is the mounting plate, that the Yamaha p's used back then.....if the bass was high dollar vintage, but it's not, 7-800 at best but this one isn't that clean and the customer wants a hotter output more akin to his Kent Armstrong hot P. Just trying to find someone who can do the job properly.

      I do appreciate the heads up though.

          Yeah David, was my first thought also, but figured I would try for someone on here, Kent and Aaron do custom winds for me. Thanks David
