    google image search.....

everytime you feel like smoking go to google image search and put in "cancerous lung" , when you see what that stuff does to your lungs you won't want to inhale....

You might try the nicotine gum approach, but hey if you're going to quit just do it cold turkey, EFT will help and it costs virtually nothing. The manual is a free download.

Go to Ebay and type in quit smoking, there are scores of hypnosis CD's and alot of other stuff, I know you're the kind of guy who is sensitive so hypnosis CD's would give you some support and a voice to coach and listen to. There are SO many resources out there, just google around for quit smoking support groups, there's alot you can do that costs nothing. The web is a great place to learn and do research and quitting smoking is a very popular subject on the web....

Cool, every time you crave a "coffin nail" get on your mountain bike and cruise down to False Cape State Park. The 8 mile round trip will do you good and the fresh ocean breeze will tell your lungs "hey, what's the carbon monoxide stuff you're foisting on us?" Send me a couple of cottonmouth eggs, will you <grin>?

I just got it into my head that smokers were stupid , and that I was far better than they because I at least could stop...everytime I saw someone smoking it was another boost to my fragile ego.....lo an behold I can now walk outside in the daytime , catch a bus and even go to the mall etc , and I even managed to get a girlfriend cause my teeth turned white and my breath was clean and minty fresh.....

            addicts...

What kills me is these guys who are always in my face about being clean and sober then they are sitting there chain smoking in my face while telling me that :-)

Yeah man, if you have a bike, that is the best damn exercise on planet earth in my opinion. I'm not an athletic guy and Ive' always HATED sports and terrible at them all, but I've always been a bike rider, and now at my age with problems with my back and wrist and neck, I got into recumbent riding, those things KILL, no pain, no crotch numbness, you sit in your lawn chair bike and crank for miles and miles and come home higher than a kite and feeling good. Problem is we're in the northwest so only get to ride maybe 4 months at best then its cabin fever while it rains and rains and rains, then snows, and then rains some more.

Bike riding will get your lungs in shape while your body detoxes from all that poison you're putting in your system, really thats where the "hurdle" is, getting over the detox period, your body will want you poison it again so the pain will go away but just get on yer bike and ride.

There was only one way for me, cold turkey. Dropped it like it deserves to be dropped. Everyone knows the health risks and issues. Another thing is the money. How much does one person spent on smokes annually, calculate the forecast over the next 5 years (money better spent)? People who smoke provide huge profits to the smoke companies by causing physical and financial harm to themselves - it's induced masochism. Smoke company executives laugh at and scorn smokers, knowingly making a lethal substance for inhalation and accepting payment for the damage it causes. The profits they make, from the smokers they harm, are also used to protect their product.
