  • Whats up with mojotone ?

    Hi All

I put in an order 10 days ago with mojotone, all parts were in stock and they still haven't sent the package. Stewmac would have had it to me in 3 days. Anyone else having similar problems ?

    Cheers

    Hi Andrew:
I agree that is too long.
    Send David Shepherd a email.
    david@mojotone.com
I would also send one to Vanessa, she runs the office, and the finances I think.
    vanessa@mojotone.com
David came back full time in January, he is trying to get the stock up.
Maybe they need to hire another Parts Stuffer.
You may want to mention to him that you posted your unhappiness on the forum.
David may have his entire staff making mojotone Pickups, not stuffing customer orders?

I've never had them take that long. Just a day or two.

        Have you called them?

          Hi David

I have emailed them but no reply as yet. I've had good service from them in the past, so I was a little surprised that this is taking so long.

          Cheers

            Hi Andrew,

I don't think I have received an email from you. Did you send it to david@mojotone.com? Also what is your sales order number? I'm sure there is a reason why something is holding this up and I'll be glad to find out and let you know. Thanks!

              Hi David

I got notification that the order was sent today. I'm not sure why there was a delay, Gremlins ? maybe. Andrew Simmons sent me notification of shipping. It was sent usps although I thought that I had asked for fedex, maybe one of those late night order things. Anyway thanks for your concern. I'll let you know when the order arrives.

              Cheers

I've also noticed that their response time has doubled. They used to ship out the next day, now its more like 4 days later you get a shipping notice.

                    Hi David

Well the parts finally arrived 20 days after putting in the order which was with express post. The competition gets my orders to me in three days ! Please try and get DHL on board, their delivery from the USA to Europe is first class. The 30 humbucker baseplates were in a plastic bag together so you can imagine what they look like. This is a bit of a moan as I have to sand and finish the plates to make them presentable, if I work out the time involved it probably works out cheaper to get them elsewhere. Mojotone really should work out some way of protecting the baseplates. I'll be glad to hear your opinion on this.

                    All the best

                    Andrew

                      Hi Andrew,

I'm sorry for the scratches. I'm not sure how we can eliminate all of them because these are raw stamped parts with no plating, but I can certainly look into how we can minimize this. Anytime you order from us, you can request that we special pack them in rows/layers separate from each other. This could increase your shipping costs if you order any quantity since the box size and or box quantity may increase, but we will do whatever we can for you if it helps.

In regards to DHL, I will look into them again. We stopped using them before for several reasons. We have to weigh pros and cons of using multiple shipping companies especially when are able to negotiate better shipping rates for our customers by increasing our shipping dollars through specific freight companies. USPS and FedEx are who we use now. We used to offer almost everything, and our shipping rates were not competitive at all because of that. In particular the biggest part of our business is manufacturing and distributing amplifier cabinets world wide in huge quantities, so you can imagine how something like that needs to be considered when it comes to our shipping rates. I hope this helps. Thanks for your support.

                        Hi David

Thanks for the reply. I think just putting the baseplates separately into a small ziploc type bag would be enough protection. I don't know how these come delivered but I can say that your competitor manages to deliver the plates unmarked so I don't see any reason why mojo can't manage it even if it costs a bit more. With the delivery I thought that I had ordered fedex shipping on the order as they can normally deliver quickly and do the customs clearance at the receivers end which speeds things up.

                        All the best

Just got some dogear P90 frames, and they seem to be coated with something that acetone and MEK won't touch. Real shiny and slick like a lacquer, but solder sticks so it looks like I won't have to sand an area to ground to.

Still - why the funky look???

Base-plates can be reasonably well protected if they are stacked and rotated slightly to form a spiral along the stack, then a large rubber band or two to hold the stack together. As an added bonus, the legs won't get bent. Each pair of stacked base-plates forms a "+" with the next "+" on top rotated 45 degrees.

Hey thanks for the suggestion Wolfe! I'll let the warehouse crew know and we'll give it a shot. In regards to the film on the baseplates, I don't know what it is, but over the course of this year I will be gradually switching these to our new supplier who is more consistent with faster lead times. I think issues like this will work themselves out as we switch suppliers.
