Be straight with the customer and tell him he'll have to wait or offer him a custom !!! alternative. If the order is for a musician he probably won't mind, or if it's for a guitar maker he will most likely understand. You could always offer him an adjusted set and send on the final finished item when available. I've sometimes informed customers that something id not available ie. an Alnico grade and supplied an alternative with the customers consent that the correct item would be forwarded at my cost when available. Most of the time the customers accepted the alternative and were happy to keep it and didn't ask for the replacement. Good luck anyway.
