  • Are sidewinder coils...

...usually wired parallel or in series?

    Series!
I wind mine both CCW, North up.
Then wire output to the start of one coil.
Wire the finish of that coil to the start of the second coil.
Then ground the finish of the second coil.
I do it with a 4 wire cable.

        You're Welcome!
Also add, that both norths, or both Souths go to the center.
You have them laid down both head to head (N/N, or S/S) with a blade between them.
I use North, because most Humbuckers Have output to the North CCW, and that makes your Sidewinder in phase, and compatible, if you mix and match them, with humbuckers.

They can be series or parallel like any other humbucker. I often wire mine with 4-conductor cable.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
