stereo filtertrons anyone?

I have a client looking to get a pair of stereo filtertrons made. whilst it would not be a problem to wind them, I have no information as to the specifics regarding number of winds and dcr

does anyone have any info on these elusive pickups?

What is a Stereo Filtertron?
Only thing I can think of is two coils in parallel?
I searched around and found the term a few times, but no explanations.
Nothing on the TV Jones Site, unless I missed it.

It's the Webster patent 2964985 the pickup was split as 2x3 coils. Afew variations.

I should explain. This was the Stereo pickup Webster was asked by Gretsch to design but Chet Atkins found it too complicated. On his Country Gent of the early sixties he had the Filtertrons done as pole pieces only under the bass three strings on the neck pickup and under the three treble strings on the bridge pickup and controlled it by multiple switches on the upper horn. It's still Websters 3 and 3.

essentially its two pickups in one. one humbucker for the bass strings and one humbucker for the treble strings. the guitars were then wired with two harnesses allowing it to run as two separate guitars...one for the bass strings, and one for the treble strings. the looms allow pickup selection too. quite a complicated setup

I would imagine a good place to start would be to wind each half to the same number of winds as a std filtertron. I would have to modify the bobbins by cutting then in half and extending the groove around the cut ends

tv jones makes them (I asked him) but he only makes them when gretsch order them for the stereo chet atkins guitar

That sounds too complicated for me.
I have enough trouble making humbuckers with a 4 wire cable.
