Wiring in rewound hofner pickups

I have just received my rewound hofner pickups, im trying to install them but im having trouble figuring out what the hell I should be wiring. Two pickups, three wires coming off each, two volume pots, two wires coming off each. I have obviously acquired an extra wire from bareknuckle but due to my complete lack of experience I dont know why! Please can some help explain how this can be wired.

Left pot is neck volume, middle is bridge, right is tone:

You should be able to wire it like a standard J-bass.

The three wires from the pickups, your winder used a 2 wire with shield cable.
That allows you to reverse the polarity of the pickup if necessary.
Your pickup rewinder should have provided you wiring info.
I would use white for output, and ground black and shield to the back of the pots.
Or you can wire the black to output and ground the bare and white, to pot back.
If you have room, you could add a three way switch, but you would have to drill an extra hole.

Are these humbuckers or single coils?

they are stock Hofner staple nickel bass pickups from this bass Hofner HCT Galaxie Short Scale Bass, Orange at Gear4Music.com

If it is a humbucker?
Probable wiring:
White wire would go to a start lead of one coil, the black wire would go to the start lead of the other coil.
The finish leads of both coils would be strapped together within the pickup.
The shield wire would solder to the baseplate of the pickup.
If it is a Single Coil, the white wire would go to a start or finish lead, and the black would go to the other.
I would be emailing the pickup winder these questions.
Ask him if the pickups are humbuckers, or Single coils?
Where does the white wire go in the pickup, and where does the black wire go?
If you should ground the white or black lead with the Shield wire?
If he put a different type cable on the pickup that varied from the stock wiring?
IMO He dropped the ball if he didn't give you new hookup wiring information.

I would imagine the black and white wires are start and end of the coil and braid being earth to the cover and baseplate
if this is the case , use white as hot and black to earth, together with the braid
