Looking for a source for brass #2 x 3/8" Phillips head round head screws for HB bobbins in bulk.
Thanks for any help
I like the ones from Bolt Depot. Sometimes I prefer the ones that are 1/2 inch long, for rewinds, and if they don't hold like I want them to, but I start out with the 3/8" ones first on new work.

Hi Stratz
No need to put yourself out, a customer of mine living in the USA has organised me some as a thank you for some work I did for him. I hope it's not a problem. Cheers
Thats great Andrew.
Could you please let us know how the quality/color is and where he got them from if possible.
Thanks
Hi Stratz
I ordered them direct from boltdepot. They have to get to Washington first and then with luck they'll get sent on to Austria. You should be able to order them yourself as your in the USA. If you you want to wait for me to get them and let you know how they look no problem. I've still got some really nice half inch screws that i got from Montreaux parts. Hopefully these will be the same as i've ordered a 1000 of each size.
Hi Rob
I just got the delivery of brass 3/8 and 1/2" from bolt depot and must say they look pretty crappy (chinese crap no doubt) The stew mac ones look much nicer and the 3/8" from stew mac are a touch longer. However they should do the job and i'm glad I ordered the half inch ones as well just in case. The ones I had from Montreaux were the nicest of the lot. When I get some time i'll post some photos.
Sorry to hear this Andrew. Thanks very much for the heads up.
I do hope you can use them all somehow.
Rob.
Hi Rob
I'll use them anyway, it just seems a shame that something as simple as a wood screw can be produced well or badly and badly seems to becoming the norm. I have examples of good and bad.
Cheers

I'm sorry to hear that too, I'm pretty sure that I was the one that suggested those, but I got mine maybe three years ago, and the ones I have aren't bad. They don't seem to be soft tempered, and the phillips hole in the heads look fine. I guess their source varies or quality has gone down like so many of the other suppliers.
