A good way to identify old alnico grades is to subject the magnet to X-Ray emission spectroscopy. It has no effect on the magnet other than to identify it's component elements.

Yup. Try the original "Alnico in Brief" page that contains excerpts from of Table II-1 and Appendix A of the MMPA 2000 PDF document.
