the drawing is misleading- one view looks like a giant coil but look at the core- if you look at the core youll be able to project what the coil looks like

Makes you want to publish every little possible tweak that makes pickups different from what's currently offered just to establish priority.

By analogy...it doesn't take much to make your own version that is just that-><-much different from the patented version, thereby avoiding any patent infringement issues.
