Early 50's Gibson Dog Ear

I've had an old early 50's Gibson P-90 in my shop for repair recently & I don't think I've ever seen a vintage Gibson p-90 like this one . it's from an early 50's ES-125 dogear .
I've never seen a bobbin like this in an old p-90 pickup It's like it's made from a b/w/b 3 ply pickguard but it is pretty rigid .

Any one resemble this to one of there repairs ?

Interesting. Several questions come to mind.

What is the core material? It looks like it is glued together--Correct?

Are there counter-sunk holes for the adjustment screw heads? -- Hard to tell from the pics.

Are the inside bobbin dimensions consistent with other period P-90s?

Agree with Jack, could be a rebuild.

The holes are not countersunk , the dimensions of the bobbin is similar to a vintage p-90
the core looks like it is attached with silicone but it is not as that white glue is quite hard .

That bobbin looks homemade to me. Maybe somebody sometime broke the bobbin sides out and replaced them with some leftover styrene sheet?

The tape looked like the Period correct tape black but it wasn't coming off easy

Looks real to me. I have an old Gibson P-90 with rod magnets with the bobbin made of the same material.

Its real- I have seen lots of them like that and pattern my P-90s after that with a built up bobbin.
They dont rot like the injection moulded ones

Thanks guys The bobbin is pretty much rock solid & not full of cracks like the later 50's bobbins .

This p-90 have that higher tpl of the P-90's that I've dissected but this pickup was machine wound with typical era wire & so i did not think i was rewound or home made bobbin .
