  • Dearmond Silver foil pickup - Rivets

    Hello guys,

    I would like your help if it is possible.
    I have a Dearmond Silver Foil pickup original 1961 and I want to rewind because it's dead but the problem that I have is where can I find the two rivets that hold the cover to the bottom.

    I must break them to open it but do you know someone what size they are and from where I can buy them in USA?

    Thank you in advance for your help!

    Best,
    Tim

    Once you get them apart by drilling the backs off you can measure them and we'll help you track down the replacements. These particular ones are called mushroom heads and they come in all diameters and lengths. They are usually very low carbon steel like 1005 to be malleable.

      Thank you David. I will try to find a store that will have them in different sizes.

        Try Mcmaster.com What you want is a hollow-end rivet aka semi-tubular rivet;

        The diameter is easy, the length is from the back of the head to the bottom of the hole. You'll need the tool that mushrooms the back.
