Contrary to the implication of the name, these use ceramics, not Alnico. Have a customer who wants me to make some replacements but I'm trying to find out if these are made the traditional Firebird way with the magnets in the bobbins or with steel bars in the bobbins with a ceramic below.

    Anyone know?

Just a guess, but I would expect them to be ceramics in the bobbins.
With a no holes cover, they are easier to build that way.
If you want warmer, go with ceramic, or alnico big magnet with steel bars, in the bobbins.
Without the screw poles the bobbins and magnet placement is more critical.

I'm trying to remember what they looked like without the covers... It wasn't a pickup I worked on, but I saw them being made for Ernie Ball... The magnet was under the coils. I'm pretty sure they had blades in the bobbins for poles.

That was a lot of help lol
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
