  • Gibson Pickup Identification

I have a humbucker I cannot identify. There is no magnet so that's out.

The baseplate is a 12 hole with the PAT NO 2737842 stamp.

The underside of the bobbins have an L on them.

    The wire is poly.

Both coils dead so no dc.

    Any guesses?

Your description is typical for Gibson humbuckers made after ca. 1985 (several possible types). Means after the Tim Shaw "PAF" era in the early 80s.

The bobbins are very slightly textured and there are 2 lead holes. Judging from the tpl they are, as Helmholtz commented, post '85 something.
