  • DiMarzio Area T pickup copper plet

Hi, I have a DiMarzio Area T pickup, does this pickup require a copper plate as per the usual? It does not have one, it is a humnbucker disguised a Tele Bridge pickup.

No most other than traditional tele pickups do not have a ferrous plate . I've seen GFS Type dual rail humbuckers in a traditional footprint with a all brass plate . How is that a THING ....???

Solid copper or brass plates will dull the tone by Eddy current losses. (Traditional Tele bridges had a copper plated steel plate.)
If you need a metal base plate, nickel silver will be the most neutral material.

Thanks for replies. I am wondering if any out there have this particular PU and have experimented with pots and the metal plate. I am leaning towards
        500k no plate
