  • Neat Baseplate

Anyone ever come across these? I wonder where these come from! Seems there are many different parts being made overseas, but how to find who makes and how to buy them is the pickle. I bet there is a good demand for parts of quality (not saying these are quality) for hobbyists like myself and the pros here, but it seems there are not alot of options on who to get stuff from. And making them stateside is rather expensive. I dunno, just ramblin... It would be nice to see a new supplier or two come up, or find where to get parts direct (although minimums would have to be huge I imagine!)...

Cool. a universal baseplate that can be used for humbuckers as well as humbucker-sized P-90s

Reckon I found it on www.guitarparts.co.nz

Was trying to find out who makes these parts, but they came up as a seller of some limited number of parts. It would be nice to know who makes these somewhere over in the far east, wouldn't it. And all parts for that matter! So if you all find out who made these, or who makes other parts, clue me in!

"The Prices on this website are in NZD dollares "

1 NZD = 0.826 USD (today, right now)

I would look around Dong Ho Electronics. Most certainly the ones who produce the Sky pickups which are sold onto that site. And Sky pickups are designed by Kent Armstrong who also offers hum sized P90. Plus Kent armstrong is distributed by WD music products. When you do a search for Sky pickups, you end up on this site http://www.guitarparts.com/guitarparts/index.html Guitarparts .com. Guitarparts.co.nz, not that far. I bet you must search along thoses lines. Plus this guitarparts is distributor of WD music products. Like CEdist https://secure.cedist.com/ is behind lots of electronic shops, you'll have to find the one behind all thoses companies.

Or may be, i suspect Rio grande to have links with Artecsound.co.ltd, this might be a lead too as they sell Rio Grande pickups too.

                    Bye.

                    Max.

Iain at guitar parts NZ got these in for me , I noticed on his bucker kit that the plate looked as though it would suit bucker sized singles as well as buckers...a sample confirmed this...not sure of material though..

The plate looks cool but for $9.00 I think I'll continue drilling out existing bucker plates.

Oh well I suppose for a couple of extra bucks , plus the time I'm saving I'm prepared to lose a bit of profit and also have something that looks neat and tidy..

It should look plenty neat and tidy with a proper drill job. Just make sure you use a drill press and a good template instead of a hand drill like I was doing in the early days -- yikes!! And to save time, do a bunch of them at once.
