  • 69 strat pickup wiring

Hello all, just bought a `69 fender strat. the pickup wiring is a kind of strange. Has anybody seen such a colour combination white(hot) and yellow with black points(ground) already? is it original? regards joachim

Hi, that is typical for 1969 only. The black points you refer to are actually embossed digits from 1 to 0. I heard it was telephone wire. Yes it is original, and the gray bottom pickups should have a 4 digit stamped number ending in 9.

I've seen originals too. It's straight, or a good copy.

            ...........

no its not Duncan, don't forget the UK-isms he's used. I still think Spence has two personalities, Sam Lee Guy only comes out when Spence has had a sheep session then goes out for Chinese food. Its the MSG overload and suddenly Sam Lee Guy emerges. There's something very sheepish about it all....

I'm not Sam Lee Guy and neither is Mr. Duncan.

I can tell you that Sam Lee Guy is not English although he speaks a variety of English. I have seen him in England but we didn't talk as he was riding by on a tandem with a young belly dancer at the time. It was the rooster hat that gave him away.

He is truly a man of mystery.
