Jons from michigan man!! He knows the goodies. I almost got geeked that they were Trowbak pafs the way they were labled. Personally, I'd want a wee bit more body on the lows and a chimey high end : )

Much of that is the bright nature of the the Princeton Reverb with a little 10" speaker. The pickup is just reads about 7.68K.
They don't make them like they used to... We do.

This is sort of on topic. If anyone a wants headache free solution to getting high quality audio recordings of your pickups consider getting an Edirol R-09.

I bought one of these and used it for the first time to record my band practice last week and I'm amazed by the results. I simply placed the recorder on a stool in front of the drum kit. I'm sure with a bit more thought you could get very high quality sound clips from this thing.

Here is the clip. I did absolutely no processing to it and put zero thought into recording it. It is actually overmodulating a bit still sounds decent. I'm playing lead with a Heritage H-150CMLW that I put some test machine wound (not done on the Lessona) PAF winding pattern pickups in. It is a fairly low gain tone. My band is just 5 regular guys that have fun playing music once a week. No illusions of grandeur.

I am impressed with your band's sound and the gadget. I can't believe the sound quality.

It looks like Musiciansfriend has them for about $400.

            thanks for sharing!!!!

Thanks Kevin. I got mine at Guitar Center for just a little under $400.00. I almost did not get it when I saw it as it seems very pricey for just a little hunk of plastic. But damned if it does not sound amazing. I only did this clip at the 16 bit setting. At 24 bits it is stunning how good it is. I'm sure if you wanted to do an extremely low tech LP you could do it with one of these things. Getting good vocals would be the biggest trick but I bet it could be done. I recorded a gig with it last week and that sounds pretty good considering the situation. I'll see if I can upload that as well.

Anyway I'm very pleased with the Edirol R-09. Even at $400.00 I think it is a bargain if you have a use for it.
