Test amps

I live in an apartment, so I obviously can't have a Twin Reverb or anything else loud.

Recently I was testing out some Tele and P-90's I made. I have a little 10 watt Vox Pathfinder. It sounds okay, it tends to color things so that you can't hear many subtleties. Not untilll i went to my friends house could I tell that i had some grounding problems. At home, I can't hear it.

So I was thinking of getting another small amp. Something clean sounding, so I can hear the subtleties, and sensitive so I can pick out any problems, like loose chassis grounds.

Mojo has a knock off Tweed Champ for a decent price. Would anyone recommend an amp like this? Keep in mind, I do have access to many larger amps for stage level testing, I just need something for at home.

Tweed champs break up really fast. If you want a bit more clean, grab a regular silver faced champ.

you know, I have an old 10 wat Marshall Valvestate. It needs a fuse, and a new switch. Would this be better than the Vox, for the mean time? I've never heard this thing, picked it up years a go, and it was already broke.

I recently bought a Fender Champion 600. It's a single-ended valve amp which has a 6" speaker. I bought it as a rehearsal amp as my Mesa's too loud for that. To my suprise it's a brilliant little amp which does the usual Fender clean as well as some impressive drive.
