  • Low profile humbucker baseplates

Any disadvantages with using the 1/4" profile (height) baseplates such as guitarpartsusa's vs the 1/2" versions like Stewmac has? This is specifically for a hardmount

the short legs are not really a problem for any of the pickup routing holes of any brand. However, the problem is more with the the longer legs in that they fit tight (too tall) or not at all with some of the newer styles of guitars from Ibanez, Schlecter, and others which have shallower routes....The short legs are more univeral and can be used in any guitar but it isn't vintage correct.

I think the short legs is all that GJ sells if i'm not mistaken.

I haven't bought anything from guitarpartsusa yet so i can't comment on their baseplates.

Tall baseplates work better in an archtop.
