when are magnets too strong?

ok, well ill give the mags a go, im thinking a split humbucker (pbass) with a flatter coil to give it a bit of a smoother sound for the bridge pup, and then a traditional humbucker for the neck pup, with the 6mmx20mm mags for the neck. im not sure exactly how many windings ill do on either of them though.
