When fully assembled with standard P90 bobbins and standard size magnets, there is a gap about 1/8" between the ears of said dogears and the mounting brackets of the baseplates. Anyone know of a better cover or dogear plate to match, or some other way to solve this vertical space problem?

I had an old Gibson ES-330TD with chrome dogears. The pickups just sat under the covers, and had no mounting tabs, so I think the mounting tabs are probably for when you do pickguard mounting with regular covers like on SG's?
I'm no expert on P-90's though. It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
