  • Source for smaller quantities of single build formvar?

Does anyone know where I can get a a pound or two of single build formvar? I don’t really need a whole 5 pound spool. Thanks

Google did not solve my confusion. What is it, and do you use it in an amp?

Check the Forum section name: Pickup Makers.

Is that enough of a hint?

Formvar is an old kind of wire insulation varnish.

At such fine diameters, even a pound is A LOT of wire.

      EDIT:
      Magnet wire

The major application of formvar resins is as electrical insulation for magnet wire. It is combined with other "wire enamels" which are then coated onto copper wire and cured in an oven to create a crosslinked film coating.[5]

Boy, you can't even search "formvar" without tripping over the heavy build stuff. plain enamel and poly in .0002 insulation thickness are "said to" sound the same as single build formvar.?. But they're not formvar. Indeed the single build stuff seems hard to find at all.
