  • aluminum bucker bobbins?

Are my eyes deceiving me or do the bobbins, in the slide show, look as if they are make of aluminum or some other light-weight metal? It also looks as if they're tapped too.

    I like the colors.

EDIT:.....opps...to see what I'm talking about, you have to be a myspace friend to see the profile and slide show or I think, at least, logged into myspace.

If they are he needs to change the name to "monster mud" pickups.

    They sure are shiny.

      ??/

He may have a thought it through a bit- If it works for him....RUn with it. You should see if he's willing to sell a few bobbins. Perhaps he's not even aware of eddys and such and think his stuff is the shit. Notice in his video its a young lad playing metallica riffs : ) Kinda funny. A worthy effort I suppose : ) Let him have some glory

So are these bobbins yours dino?

Just curious, if they are yours, are these bobbins, in fact, metal? Also curious, how do you have them made....is each bobbin machined? Are they molded and tapped?

          Please enlighten us.

Don't you find a serious problem with treble roll off due to eddy currents? Especially from aluminum. Stainless steel wouldn't be as bad. This is why no one uses metal for bobbins... any kind of coil bobbins.

We're not trying to be mean.. we are just surprised.
