  • Another source for Stewmac style cloth tape

Love their cloth tape but hate having to pay $10.99 shipping just for a couple of rolls. But all the other cloth tape I can find over the years is this thin raggedy stuff that has only enough adhesive to allow them to say it has adhesive. Anyone know another source, and ideally in larger rolls?

I've never used that tape, what do you use it for?

I've been happy using this tape off of Amazon lately. Free shipping if you have Prime. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MSOQWTB...1VMQAMACK?th=1

Great! I came here today looking for an answer to this very question, also due to Stewie's shipping costs.

By chance, are you aware of any trustworthy sources of vintage-style bar magnets?

I use Tesa 51036 which is meant for wrapping wiring looms in automotive wiring harnesses. It can be bought on eBay or elsewhere in lots of different sizes.

The Tape is Teraoka AT571S (acetate cloth tape). It's not easy to find outside of japan, if you are ordering enough you can order it direct from Teraoka. There are a bunch of suppliers in Japan, if you contact some of them they might ship some internationally. I get it from oyaide https://shop.oyaide.com/products/p-1562.html and have them send it to my mother-in-law's house in japan then have her post it to me here. Tip for searching japanese websites on google, add 円 to your google search and you'll find suppliers selling it rather than websites/blogs talking about it.

If you explore outside marketed (and marked up) for guitar versions, you can find these tapes around. It is common in electronics.

Here is a variant by Gennel available on Amazon in many widths.
