  • Gibson T-Top pickups

    Hello everyone,

I am new to pickup winding and repair. I am looking at making myself a set of T-Top clones. Does anyone know where I can get the specs on them.. magnet.. wind count.. all the little details. And equally as important is where can I source the parts from. I am in Canada

    Thank you for your help

    Dale

Others can correct me if I'm way off but iirc, the t-top is 5000 turns each coil of 42awg with a short A5 magnet. Solo music carries everything you would need and they are canadian bases. You could also order magnets via ebay, philadelphia luthier tools, and mojontone amongst others and I bet they would all ship to Canada

        Hi Dale
Tinius is correct + don't use plain enamel wire ! Use something like this https://www.remingtonindustries.com/...izes-2-colors/ I think they used the red wire if you want to be nerdy, I wouldn't swear on the colour .

        Cheers
        Andrew

Hello, i think a Guy having a website does and sells T-TOPS handwound pickups. Check Brandon pickups on Google, you'll see the informations you want !
