Never thought of that one.

I've done lots of mechanic work.
I use deep well sockets, of different sizes for the weights.
    Works great.
I prefer the smaller magnets like the StewMacs, and if you need more strength, I stack them.
The very large NEOs are dangerous.
The way I do things is very small scale and not for big Business.
    It's a fun Hobby.

900 is unusually high for a humbucker type al5 magnet but materials can vary so if you want consistancy you have to check everything that goes into an assembly.
You can degauss al 5 super easy- just rub a piece of steel on the magnet in the direction pole to pole or slide two magnets apart or like you guys said- use a ceramic so it is arranged south to south etc and pass it by about 1/8 inch away from the alnico. Touch them together and you can almost kill the alnico in one pass.

Well Maybe tboy is doing something with it. It was turing into a big SPAM site. I had to undo vandalism to the front page on almost a weekly basis.

the chart you linked to confirms the gauss readings I mentioned- did you read it?

He was referring to this thread:

                  http://music-electronics-forum.com/t27428/

I had made mention that the listed strength of the magnets was too low as read on my gauss meter. So Elepro was basically saying that you confirmed what we were trying to say in that thread.

                  Hence the winks.

OK, wait a minute. The alnico magnet turned to dust? Impossible. Did you ever try and CUT alnico?

Neos on the other hand will smash into a zillion pieces if you just let them smack together. Neos are not a solid piece of metal like an alnico. They are made from powder. They are VERY fragile.

Also, how did the neos snap together if they are epoxied on a vice? I use two neos in a vice and they aren't epoxied and they don't snap together, even if I close the jaws on the vice pretty close to each other.

This is all you need to charge alnico magnets. Each of these magnets will lift 20 lbs.

Dave I was joking about the dust thing. I had 2 200 pound mags for charging and prior to gluing them to a vice they snapped together and shatterd a A5.

Here is some Wiring Info for Les Pauls.
This could be put on the Guitar Tech forum.
However, Us Winders are Always wiring Guitars, and thought You may want to save this to your Hard drive.
