I've hand-wound a set of strat PUs (42HFV), i've the suspect that I've been stretching the wire way too much.
I wound the neck PU at 8.000 turns and what I had was 6.1/6.15 k, then I wound the bridge PU trying to reduce the tension on the wire and what I've read was 6.8k (the last time i've wound a PU at 8700 turns i've read 7.1/7.2k), the wire is the one mojo sells, are these data coherent with your experience or i'm stretching the wire while wounding?
Which would be the effect on tone (if any) of stretched wire?
