  • Pickup beginner spec's

    Hi guys,
I'm a newbie at pickups and was wondering if there is any resource for say what wire brings what tone? Example 8.5 humbucker w/42 wire vs 8.5 humbucker w/43 wire. I know tension and winding method have a lot to do with it but I'm just looking for a beginner reference point.
    Thank you very much,
    B
    Thank you,

    Hello Friend
There's a ton of info right here .go through the pages
by the way "8.5 humbucker w/42 wire vs 8.5 humbucker w/43 wire" ...........I think your looking at dcr not number of turns...winders use number of turns not dcr ........ DCR!!!
A humbucker wound with 43 gauge wire @ 8.5k will be a low output pup ,it only takes about 4500 turns per bobbin +/- to get you there
    Please don't ban me !!!!!
