I hadn't thought of the torch tip cleaners. Good idea. This isn't exactly the same as the needle burr that I keep at the winder but there are a couple in this set that are basically the same thing, and by the way I got my set of burrs kind of like this to file nut slots for basses, which the cylindrical ones do a fine job of. I chucked up one of the tapered needle burrs in a pin vise to clean the eyelets and it works great.

      Needle file here too.
At one point when I first starting using Kaptan tape I stopped dipping the forbon bobbins and just put them on a 6 penny nail in a vise, gave them a spin and sprayed them with couple coats of lacquer. strictly for looks.

Problems started to arise after a few years. Warping, twisting, etc: so I now dip them in nitro lacquer again and then wrap the poles with Kaptan tape.
Seems the forbon stays straight and true if it's saturated in lacquer.
