  • Different Steel Alloys?

Can someone be so kind as to explain the differences in the steel alloys in which Addiction-FX offers their pole pieces and what affect they may have on tone....if any.

This is one definition I found.
SAE-AISI categorizes plain carbon steel as 10xx (the xx in the last two digits indicate the carbon content in hundredths of a percent).
You can read all different things about which sounds best.
1010 is lowest carbon content, and may be softer and rounder tone.
1018 is in the middle, and the 1022 is highest of the 10 series.
Not tried any of the 1215 slugs.
I usually stick with 1018, but you may want to try some different ones to get your own ideas.
back a couple of years ago I asked the same questions, and got Nada!
    It's like asking about TPL.
    Good Luck,

I loved Brad's (RedHouse) post in the first thread you gave me links on. I like his attitude.

Terry - I got your PM and tried to respond. Maybe I'm just an idiot but I can't seem to find any record that my response was sent. Did you get my response? If you got it 3 or 4 times, I'm sorry. LOL
