    i have tryed with 42 awg with 4000 winding and sound too dark, i think the problem is the steel, tomorrow i going to wind a 3 laminated blade of 7mm with the same 38 wire and i´ll see what happend.

    no, is my fault... i was searching in the web and is 38 awg gauge wire instead 40 awg i think, the core lenght is 0,236" and the winding is under the blade.

    To get the right wire diameter I had to go with 39 SP gauge.
    To get 4000 turns, I had to go with 2150 ohms.
    If you are only getting 1400 ohms, with 4000 turns, that may indicate a short in you coil somewhere?

    Sorry, 2mm the thicknes( 0,0787") of the blade 0,1mm (i think 40 awg) for the wire, the reading was 1,4 ohms, width 3cm (1,18") ,8,5 long (3,346"), tall 1,1cm (0,433")int 0,6mm (0,236") ,i think i use South/blade/south.
    No worry about the question, I've done a lot of stupid questions in the past ja ja and more to come!!!
    I think maybe the steel is the problem...

    Here's a layout, like it is a Strat Sized Blade pickup.
    I would think it would be bright enough.
    I have the 4000 turns, where it coincides with the 90% tpl, since that seems to be how my winding usually comes out.

    2mm wire appears to be around 38-39 gauge.
    Can you give me the total dimensions of your bobbin core.
    Length x width x height x flange, in inches if possible.
    I will try to do a layout of it with the estimator.
    I would think it would be quite bright.
    Are you placing the magnets head to head like on a P90.

    I´m working on a 1 blade pickup, using 0,1mm wire, is the first time i try this, now i´m working on laminating the blades, 3 blades of 0,7mm, because i have used 1 blade of 2mm with 4000 turns in a humbucker type size bobbin with ceramic 8 magnets like a p90, and it sound without much brightness.

    I took a couple of pictures, of the tele micro blade pickup.
    Testing a design to see if it would work for a Bass application.
    This is proof Dynamite comes in small packages.
    I've enjoyed playing it, and may leave it in a while.
    It being a narrow aperture pickup, it has a nice warm tight Tone.
    No mud, and is bright enough. Is silent, with no hum or buzz.

    I mounted and tested the micro blade in the test bass.
    It works and sounds great.
    I had two of the tele bridge pickups and I used the one around 5k.

    Nice Ideal ..give it a try
    is it the same as the 51 p bass
    Maybe use the strat blade flatwork & glue a appropriate sized custom piece on the bottom to fit the p bass mounting holes
    the strat flatwork is 3.275" & the p-bass is 3.33" OR maybe you can modify the holes ..

    What If ?

    What if you crossed a Tele micro mini blade rail with the old fashioned 52 P-Bass Single Coil Pickup?
    And, yes use it in the 52 Sting type P-Bass!
    All that needs to be different is the Forbon bottom baseplate?
    Before I attempt to build one?
    I have a Low Wound Tele Rail that is less than 5k with 42 SP wire.
    I think it will work fine?
    I'll mount it in the universal 2 hole Test bass and give it a try.
    Any Opinion? Discuss away!
