This is cool, I remember that aluminum is paramagnetic. So it does have some magnetic properties. The effects of the eddy currents are cool, but before neos there were other uses of aluminum as a magnetic material. The spinning disk in your electric meter is aluminum, it is driven by the magnetic fields from the windings in the meter. Also old time electric clock motors have an aluminum cup that spins in the same way around the rotating magnetic field of the windings. Back in high school I used to take them apart.
