Before I got a guass meter I used heavy steel weights.
I knew how much I could pick up with a fully charged A2, A3, A5 Bar magnets.
A3 being the weakest, A2 a little stronger, and A5 is much stronger, C8 stronger yet."If Hitler invaded Hell, I would make at least a favourable reference of the Devil in the House of Commons." Winston Churchill

Charge is not a good indicator of AlNiCo grade. I think it's been discussed here ad nauseum that the only real way to tell is by a lab analysis - right?
Cheers
Probably most asking this, are using limited resources.
Sounds like my Shop, I do a whole lot with very little. lol
Most cheaper factory pickups use A5, and C8.
Some use A2, but not many.
If you can recharge the Alnico bar magnet with NEOs, and the Alnico Magnet is fairly strong, it is probably A5.Last edited by big_teee; 11-24-2013, 05:35 PM."If Hitler invaded Hell, I would make at least a favourable reference of the Devil in the House of Commons." Winston Churchill
