  • Which Way is My Winder Turning?

There seems to some discrepancy on winding Direction.
So if you say you have a humbucker that is wound CCW.
On my machine I call that Top Going on the Right side facing the winder.
But if you look at the winder arm it is actually turning Clockwise, CW.
What do you call CCW, winding the coil that way, or the winder arm moving that way?

Watching the top of the bobbin winding & if its turning clockwise then your wire is wound CCW

      Thanks Copper!
I dug that up too, after my first post.
So iif a winder says CW, or CCW, They are talking about the machine, and not what the pickup will be.
I can see where that would be confusing for new winders.

When I choose to wind a pickup CCW in the menu of my CNC winder ,facing the faceplate of the winder , it turns CW

Does the CNC call it CW, when you make a CCW pickup?
