Oh I have no shortage of higher end hobbyist type winding related gear. In my case, it's a skills shortage that's the problem. I have a 0°F - 900°F soldering iron. But by the time I get the solder melting and adhering to the eyelet, it has started melting into the plastic. More practice needed obviously and I'll have to learn to get off the plastic quicker as you are pointing out. Or, like I do now and just stay away from plastic bobbins that need to see a soldering iron.

For soldering terminals in plastic, it's actually far easier and more reliable to use a very hot iron (750 F), so the soldering takes an eyeblink, and the heat does not have time to spread.

I don't think I have to worry about it!
Doesn't look like he's going to use me anyway.
But, sometimes when you think they have forgotten, and moved on, they call or email.
Not going to think anymore about it, till my next contact.
        Back to my Sidewinder projects.

          Terry,

Why not just take the tap out and solder a lead to it, rather than use eyelets. Make it just like a regular soapbar with the ABS bobbin, but drill a 3rd hole in it. I like David Schwab's idea about the 42g for 10K turns then 43 for the balance, maybe another 3K turns. That full coil should give a reduction in highs and with 13K turns and a couple of A5s fully charged, that should peel paint!

          cheers,

Yes, I would solder white, red, black, green 28 ga. wire.
Then connect those to a 4 wire cable.
            The pickup market is strange.
No one seems to want anything normal.
It's always what you're not equipped for, or never made before.
I have most test guitar types, except for a P-90.
All that work, and you're still stuck with a noisy Single Coil Pickup.

I just got an email from him.
He was already in the process of having one of those made.
He was checking to see if I could make it, in the future.

                Thanks Everyone for your help!
