Plastic bobbin threads Tap'd or Untap'd

Do you tap your plastic bobbins? P90 and humbucker bobbins specifically.
I bought a tap recently and my screws seem to go in almost too easily now. It beats what I did when I first started, trying to screw in pole screws with the bobbin unthreaded, I must've ruined 25% of my pickups with a slip of the screwdriver or cracking it from pressure.


Just wondering if anyone else wants to share their method or thinking behind this...
