I've wound very few so I apologize if this seems dumb...
The way I start winding a coil is I tape the start to the bobbin mounting plate and leave a good bit to solder the lead to after I wind it.
I noticed that (on a brandname pup) that the lead wire fed out a small hole in the bottom of the bobbin- a hole that none of the bobbins I've
purchased have.
It made me wonder...do you drill a small hole and solder a lead wire before you wind?...or do you not drill a hole and just wind over the lead?
I didn't do a search...my computer at work and this forum software doesn't get along so I feel lucky when I can even sign in.
Thanks,
Michael
