Here are some Pics of the Beast.
With rosewood neck and a .050 cap has very rich tone, in all switch positions.
The only parts added, were different neck pickup magnets, pickup wire, complete guitar rewire, one .050uf cap, and replaced one bent saddle screw for E & A strings.
All other parts were salvaged and reused.
Even reused the Cigarette carton neck shims.
Worked on neck pocket to get the neck to seat against the body firmly, now it has better sustain.

The 4 way switch rosewood tele was returned weds. night.
It didn't get test played until today, he was busy in college.
He loves it.
Likes the tone of both pickups, and likes the 2 pickups in series.
It needs some saddle tweaking, then he's supposed to make me a test vid on youtube.
I'll post it when we get it!
He has 4 strats, a firebird, a SG, and now a Tele.
Maybe later we can get him on a Les Paul.

I have some pickups to repair and rewind.
Another dirty fingers.
Two SD SM-3B, 3N mini pickups.
One needs repaired, and going to replace the Cover with Stewmac plain type Firebird covers, on both mini's.
I will keep a record of the process.
Here are before pictures.
Probably be Monday before I tear into them.

I'm fixing to rewind the Dirty fingers, and I stripped and prepped the bobbins.
This pickup will be used by a metal player in the neck position.
The owner player, wants to keep the pickup wound with 44SPN, but a little less winds than the bridge.
The bridge uses 7100 turns per bobbin to make it around a 16+k pickup.
I plan on winding this neck to 15k or less, with 44SPN, using 6500 turns.
Your rewind comments are welcome!

I wound and potted the Dirty Fingers, and there were no surprises.
The pickup with 2-44awg, 6500 turn bobbins, wound up around 14.8k, which is what I was shooting for.
It's not unusual for me to break or screw up 44 awg wire, when I wind bobbins by hand with 44, until I get used to it.
No problems today, and they both wound without a hitch.
I'll work on the mini-buckers tomorrow!

Was cold in my shop today, but I worked on the Mini-buckers a little while.
I thought a SM3-B Mini bucker that measures near 12k, was probably wound with 43spn.
After micing the wire, I descovered that it is wound with 44spn, instead.
I ended up putting 5500 turns of 44spn on each bobbin which gives it the same bobbin fullness, and DCR of a SM3-B, just less that 12k.
I will modify and post my data, later, to reflect the 44spn, instead of 43spn.
I have both pickups ready to assemble, and pot tomorrow.
The neck pickup was still good, so not rewinding it, just replacing the cover.
It measures about 6.3k, I presume the SM3-N is wound with 42spn?

Here's a copy of John_H post on the main forum.
Maybe he won't mind me borrowing his post!
Goes good with all the bizarre pickups that get rewound!
Great Pictures.
The bizarre guitar pickup encyclopedia. It's too bad there isn't more info, but the high res pictures are good.

Man, what a tone-less p'up. The quintaessence of a one-trick pony. In my case, I couldn't even find the pony, but a stubborn donkey.
I still have it, it's a 1978 one, wound on Schaller bobbins, taken out of a Koa Gibson Explorer. I might one day rewind it with PAF specs.Pepe aka Lt. Kojak
