    I have made many rod magnet humbuckers.. for the bridge I use around 9000 turns with 43 wire per bobbin. the smaller gauge fattens the tone up enough and the pickup still had a clear edge without slicing your head off.

      I already built it, and it works great.
      I used some small 42 I had.
      It's fun to build and try new things.
